Psychotherapy EFT

msc psychotherapy and counselling

Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT) is a highly effective form of psychotherapy. Developed in the 1970s in the USA and later expanded by Gary Craig in the 1990s, it has become a unique therapy that has been reported successful in thousands of cases. During EFT sessions, I utilise a combination of various relaxation techniques, breath work, and life coaching.

Method

EFT, or Emotional Freedom Technique, is based on the idea that the body can hold negative emotions, traumas, and tension in the cellular memory of certain organs and body systems. If these emotions are not released, they can cause blockages in the body’s energy system and eventually lead to illness, pain, emotional imbalances, and stress. By tapping with fingers on specific points on the face, torso, and hand while focusing on the issue in your mind, these negative emotions and unwanted habits can be released.

EFT has similarities to Neuro-linguistic Programming (NLP), but it is a unique technique that combines ancient knowledge of acupuncture and the meridians system with deep relaxation. It is often more effective than traditional forms of psychotherapy such as counselling.
